People make the world go round. The interconnectivity we all share is undeniable despite the chaotic times in which we seem to be living. The relationship we have with loved ones, family, and friends is life’s richest treasure. The holidays are a perfect time to press pause on regular routines, and trivial distractions, in order to carve out some exclusive time for those who matter most.We all have an inner circle that we certainly connect with during these special times of the year. Any way we can continue strengthening those ties is important. Most of us also however, have a second circle of people we don’t see much anymore, but have always held a special place in our hearts. Maybe it’s an old next door neighbor, a former school teacher, a distant family member or a childhood friend. This time of year is also a special time to reach out and touch them, too!
Sometimes, we think it takes a whole lot to make a meaningful connection happen but in actuality, it just takes one phone call, one email, one text, one holiday card, a bouquet of flowers, whatever simple act comes to your heart or mind. I encourage you to identify those other special people in your life, write down their names and even if it is a short list, at some point during this holiday season, make the connection.
