La Tienda: it's not just for the ladies anymore.

La Tienda de Jardin is now accepting donations of men's clothing and will soon open a new men's section at 335 La Colonia St., at the southwest corner of Alameda Boulevard and Main Street.

Donations are being accepted 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays and by appointment.

To schedule an appointment to drop off donations, call 575-541-9746.

La Tienda features gently used clothing and accessories, along with jewelry, dishes, housewares, antiques, collectibles and knickknacks, glassware and more at a fraction of their original cost.

Proceeds from La Tienda benefit Jardin de los Niños, which provides childcare, education and other services for homeless and near homeless children and their families.

The store was founded by Sister Beth Daddio (who started Jardin de los Niños in a church basement) in June 2009. It is staffed largely by volunteers from the community.
