sorry if the free stuff is getting a little long in the tooth, but don't worry... large pickup is over until fall so this is the last collecting post... from here on... building with free stuff ;-)))
but back to collecting.... it`s really fun - like a treasure hunt (rob - i guess i AM a pirate ;-))
it's all about the windows - this was a load of windows from one trip - a really great assortment, thick panes and good casements - these are sliding windows, pretty big ones too!!
and I got this solid cedar door - go figure - still smells nice!!
someone was throwing out the frame from a trampoline, a few of the tubes were rusted, but all the fasteners are there - i might use these to make plastic covers for the raised beds that we can toss on in fall... or something else - we'll see. regardless, uniform metal tubes are good to have - ;-))
someone else was throwing out a perfectly good plastic sink - hellooooo outdoor kitchen!!! there is also a small emply plastic toolkit case and a HEAVY cast base that i think was for a flagpole... it weighs about 50 lbs - i will use it as a base for a mammoth bird feeder or laundry pole - options options - great addition!!
a week later, i got this assortment of windows plus another solid wood door (with a window)
i also got this old wood chest - never pass up a storage oppourtunity!!!!
and finally, someone got tired of these old hand tools - saw, crimper, hammers, files - amazing what people will throw out - they just need a little tlc... if the power ever goes out for good, these will be the only tools we can use!!!
i hope you had fun garbage picking, now it is on to building with junk posts!!
